I was married in 1973 to Sue and have truly enjoyed exploring life with her for forty seven years. We have two daughters and five grand children which has been special. We split our time between Michigan and Arizona.
I retired from Morrison Industries, a Material Handling dealer, in 2019. Morrison is a Michigan family owned business founded in 1953. I began my career with Morrison in 1974 as a management trainee after graduating from Calvin College in Grand Rapids and worked in many different positions in the company from parts manager to CEO.
I grew up on a dairy farm in West Michigan with a strong faith foundation as well as strong work ethic. One of the great memories I had growing up was when the local John Deere dealer hosted John Deere days showcasing all the new equipment coming out each year. I think this is also why I worked 45 years for Morrison, the enjoyment of seeing new equipment.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role was helping employees grow and develop. I have had the pleasure of working with a lot of talented people.
I feel I have been blessed because I have enjoyed the majority of my positions. I learned that life is too short not to enjoy what you do. There are so many great options for people I think we should help people discern what might be best for them.
